Brand/Creative Copywriting: Queer Temple

Queer Temple is TUTV’s first LGBTQIA+ series, co-created by Temple Alumni Christopher Smith and Andreas Copes. The program examines the world through the eyes of LGBTQIA+ individuals, focusing on current events, history, and life in the queer community.
LGBTQIA+ history and education are crucial for understanding community dynamics. Temple University’s Pride Class, also known as CSI 4628: Empowerment of the LGBTQ+ Community Through the NYC Pride March, is a course that teaches students about the history of Pride, the LGBTQIA+ community, and how to get involved in the New York City Pride March.
On the Fall 2024 semester premiere of Queer Temple, host-in-training Lee welcomes the Director of Undergraduate Studies and Director of Communication Studies at Klein College of Media & Communication, Dr. Scott Gratson, Ph.D. Ph.D. (he/him) to the show. Dr. Gratson has served in various capacities for NYC Pride since 2017, including Captain of Spectator Services, for which he was awarded Volunteer of the Year by Heritage of Pride in 2022. Gratson created and teaches the “Pride Class” featured in this episode.
Later, host Laila Page welcomes some of Dr. Gratsons students, Cullen Mccormick (he/him), Kevin Murphy (he/him), Kimberly Gucciardi-Kreigh (she/they), and Camille Murphy (she/her) to the studio to discuss their experiences in the class, their roles in the NYC Pride March, and more.
